This picture is actually from last years Lake Conroe Sailing Association boat parade as this years parade was canceled due to much needed rain. With the 4th being on a Sunday this year it was supposed to have taken place yesterday morning but we still had remnants from Hurricane Alex. The last few days God has been providing us with some AWESOME cloud displays. This particular display had a little help from a few airplanes but the result was INCREDIBLE!! Doesn't it look like the clouds are blowing smoke?

The Cassowary is a very large flightless bird; native to New Guinea. Cassowaries are very shy, but when disturbed, they are capable of inflicting serious injuries to dogs and children.  The 2007 edition of the Guiness World Record list them as the most dangerous bird in the world. In other words give them a wide berth. Our daughter took the picture on a recent trip to the Houston Zoo.  I'm not sure how she got the picture without the fence in front but I guarantee you there was a fence.

Houston has a wonderful zoo.  It makes a great day trip if you have never visited it!

Recently our daughter was in town and we took a girls day and went to the Houston Zoo.  I thought this Andean Bear was the highlight of the zoo.  He/She got in the goofiest positions. It appears he/she is giving thanks!  I'm glad that we were on the other side of the fence as I would not want to be the meal the bear is giving thanks for.

We both had our cameras and I was trying to learn how to set the f-stops but I didn't quite get it down so this is our daughter's picture.

Our daughter works as a flight attendant for a charter company that has one of the contracts to move our troops.  She does a lot of turns from Germany to Kuwait.  This picture would have been taken in Kuwait.  Her company gets our troops to Kuwait and then a troop transport takes them in to Iraq. This is a recent picture that she took of our troops. As these men and women serve to protect our homeland we need to keep them in our prayers!

On this Easter Sunday I thought this was a great photo.  Our daughter took this picture on one of her many travels.  I love the way it reflects the empty cross but also the resurrection. To me all the green ivy at the bottom reflect new life. Jesus came to die for our sins that we may live.  All we have to do is ask him in to our life!

This is my grand-kitty who lives with us as our flight attendant daughter travels the world. It is amazing at how devoted she stays to our daughter. As soon as our daughter gets in town I'm second fiddle (lol). Our daughter arrives for a week tomorrow so I won't see much of Elle this next week. She loves to cuddle so I know she will return to my lap as soon as our daughter flies off to her next destination.

Typically Valentines Day in Spring TX is the day to prune your crepe myrtles.  Not so this year.  We are looking at having temperatures below freezing the next three days.  We have lived here 14 years and I have NEVER seen a winter like this one.  Where's the Global warming? This is not what we signed up for.  I'm ready for Spring (lol).
