Speechless Sunday in Cochran's Crossing - The Woodlands TX

The Woodlands TX

I'm just enjoying a quiet day at the lake!

A The Woodlands TX duck coming in for a landing

WOO HOO you look a little lonely over there!

The Woodlands TX ducks

And I have one more thing to tell you!

The Woodlands TX egret!

Meanwhile on the other side of the lake, I have an itch!

Okay I was at this little subdivision lake in The Woodlands at Cochran's Crossing to take pictures for one of my listings and then all these birds distracted me.  The Woodlands has wonderful trails and community lakes and this is just one example.

Hi Marchel...What type duck is that red headed one?  What a good looking bird.  We don't have any here that look like that.

Love the photo sequence.

JOAN, Thanks!  This little lake is in walking distance to one of my listings and I walked over there to get some pictures and well this is the rest of the story.

TOM, Thanks!!  Dundy is doing GREAT!  His only bad habit is chasing shadows.  We thought it was cute at first but have decided it is time to break the habit.  He is number 1 in his obedience class.  There are two German Shepherds in the class and they are so funny.  The female is scared of her own shadow.  Her owner has to drag her in to the class.  Someone forgot to tell her she was a German Shepherd.  My husband is the one taking the class and next week they are going outside so I will try and get some pictures.

KATE, I don't have a clue.  Maybe someone will be able to tell us.  I didn't even realize I had the sequence until I got home.  I was just click, click, clicking.

Marchel, I love it! You seem to do what I do, just click click click, then.. wow, look at what I got! Great shots, thanks!

Marchel, great shots of wildlife. It's a reminder to stop and smell the roses or in this case watch nature.

GARY, I was over there again this morning and saw the same duck in the same spot.  He seems like one contented duck.

ANDREA, For me the click, click, click has become the secret to getting a cool shot.  I let my husband take the pictures of our son's welcome home ceremony when he got back from Iraq and I wish I had grabbed that camera away from him because he did not click, click, click.  It is digital; all you have to do is erase them.

CAROLE,  I have a fascination with birds and trees.  I love the cute things that birds and animals do.  Now the trees of course don't move but I find them very cool also.

ROBERT, They were having a fun day at the lake.  I think they have a fun day every day at the lake as I saw them hanging out there again this morning.

TAD, I was actually taking pictures for my listing but as you can see I got distracted.  You know sometimes we just need those distractions.

Marcel - I think those are very large Muscovy ducks, which have had their picture taken by a VERY good photographer:-)

Posted by Myrl Jeffcoat (Real Living Great West Real Estate) about 3 years ago

JACKIE, Thanks!  It sounds like Myrl came up with the answer on what they are.  She said Muscovy ducks.

DALE, I LOVE my area so it makes it fun to take pictures.  Like I said I was supposed to be taking pictures of the park but I got distracted (lol).

TREY, I just LOVE living here!!

PATRICIA, The Woodlands is a beautiful area.  It is well named as it has TREES and more TREES!!

JENNIFER, Thanks!!  The Woodlands sounds as pretty as it is!!

JANE, I was trying to wait for the bird to straighten but he just had an itch.  I was amazed that one of the itch pictures turned out as I took a bunch.

KAREN, I learned that it is all about having the right equipment.  I love our Canon Digital Rebel XTi.

MYRL, Now that you say Muscovy ducks that sounds very familiar.  They are very tame muscovy ducks as they let me get up right to them.

PIPPA, Thanks!!  What a fun lake to live close to.  We lived in North Caronlina for 2 years and backed up to a lake.  I loved it.  A guy pulled out a big catfish while I was there also.

Very nice, I can see why you got distracted!  They are so much fun to watch, and listen to!

What great shots!  How fortunate to find those birds in such a photographic mood...

Looks like they're blushing from having their pictures taken so many times -- LOL.

I love it when one can get a picture of a bird fluttering on the water. Those taking off and landing pictures are so difficult to get because of the delay on these digital cameras. I'm almost ready for an SLR digital camera.

CHERYL, I find birds to be an easy distraction.  I do enjoy watching them.

ANN, The birds were in a playful mood.  I think they are usually in that type of mood in that surrounding though.

RUSSELL, They are so use to people they almost totally ignored me.

JIM,We bought a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and have LOVED it!!  I'm in Orlando right now to celebrate a big birthday with my sister and decided not to bring it and I'm already regretting that decision.  I guess we will see how my Canon point and shoot does.
