For a VERY HOT July evening (we have been beating heat records in Houston) we had somewhere between 3500 to 5000 people show up for our North Houston - The Woodlands July 2nd Independence Tea Party. We had to change the venue from our Tax Day Tea Party as we were so successful with that tea party we had to find a new place to go. We ended up at the Lonestar Expo Center in Conroe TX. It ran from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and we had a fun educational evening. It was again a peaceful gathering to unite our voices and express our love for this great nation we live in. We had speakers such as our own local Jim "Mattress Mac" McIngvale, Joe "the Plumber"Wurzelbacher and a surprise visit from General Patton.
I'm not for sure on this but it is my understanding that our next Tea Party will be on September 12th, 2009. If you would like to get involved or just find out more about the North Houston Tea Party please visit their website at www.thewoodlandsteaparty.org.

Hi Marchel, great story and terrific photos. I didn't know they had a second round of these tea parties.
There were TEA Party's all over the country. Wonder when our elected officials will begin to listen and understand that we the tax payers mean business. I'm sure they just wish we would hush up but that is not going to happen. There is power in numbers and the numbers are growing amongst the tax paying folks.
I love the photos and the way you put them in a slideshow. Looks like the tea parties and staying around and were not just a flash in the pan. Maybe some changes can be made.
Where were the other "Teabagging" events? Doesn't Joe have back taxes to pay? Does Ohio still have a lien on his property? from his years of tax evasion? He should get a job.

CARL and CEIL, I know of three that took place just in our area. The people are speaking! We didn't get as many people to this event as the first one but we weren't far off and it was an INCREDIBLY HOT DAY.
SHIRLEY, They are planning on a total of 10 tea parties between now and the 2010 elections. The movement is GROWING!!
SCOTT, The media descended on Joe after he called Obama on his socialistic ways. The worst they could find was $1200 in back taxes! I wonder how much in back taxes our politicians owe? You can bet it is more than $1200.

I never heard of any tea parties after the initial ones. Of course, it doesn't surprise me that Texas is still going strong with them.
