Celina Texas Pro on Active Rain

Celina TXCelina Texas is located just about 40 minutes Northeast of Dallas along State Highway 289.   It is about 12 miles north of Frisco and 15 miles northwest of McKinney.  The town was established in 1987 but there were settlers in the area long before that.  The postmaster of the town at that time named it Celina after Celina Tennessee.  When the railroad came through in 1902 the town thrived but then declined during the depression.  In the last few years the area has shown phenomenal growth.  It is close enough to have the amenities of Dallas but far enough to feel like you are out in the country.

Marchel - Celina sounds a bit like your part of Texas, far enough away from the city, but close enough to enjoy!

Paula:  Tina and I were just discussing today the resemblances between our two areas.  Her area to the north of Dallas sounds very similar to my area to the north of Houston.  We both have the convience of the city but are far enough away to be out in the country

Marchel,

Tina really loves her corner of Texas - I was reading through some of her blogs yesterday and she has a lot of information about Celina TX.  My favorite was her description of a local father daughter dance.

Thank you Marchel & everyone for the wonderful comments.  Celina is in my mind the best of both worlds just like Spring is for the Houston area.  Of course that brings me to an eternal catch-22. . . the more people I tell about my hidden gem Celina the better my business.  But, the better my business the more Celina grows. Hmmm.  Actually I'm kidding Celina is so fortunate to have leaders & citizens that care about the character & history of the town.  So you can all move here and still experience old town celina charm!

And not to hijack Marchel's post, but since it was mentioned my daddy-daughter dance posts are my favorite ones too so here they are.  If Marchel doesn't mind.
