I decided to use a picture of Dundy in front of the fireplace for our Christmas cards. Our son thought it would be cute if he had reindeer antlers. I searched high and low to find the perfect antlers. As you can see from the picture our reindeer was not happy with his antlers. He wins the Christmas card picture is going out without the antlers.

Marchel, I don't blame him though. I don't like any kind of hats either. :)
Marchel, I don't blame the dog, LOL. It is amazing the things we all do that humiliate our pets. I have done it myself... I felt so bad I destroyed the photo, LOL. Well, I did get a few death threats from the dog....
Marchel,
Cute photo. Dundy really looks unhappy with those antlers on, and the only thing missing is his red nose....
Michael
Marchel
What a great picture; and the doggy is easier to keep happy and you don't have to keep all that hay around for the reindeer.
Marchel Unhappy? Maybe not - perhaps contemplating what can he do to be one of "the chosen" to be on duty with St Nick
Marchel- Cute ... I can just imagine his disgust if you had tried to give him a flashing red nose as well
Dear Marchel,
I love the photo, I took a raw photo, not a studio one, but hope that you remember me :P Excellent idea and great photo :P
Take care and hope that we get back on the road together !
Why isnt he happy?
Marchel,
At least he's wearing it. Wouldn't last on my dogs for a second.
Rich
You forgot to give him his doggie treats for being a good doggie and wearing the antlers! LOL
Dundy definitely does not look to pleased with his new role of family reindeer:)
Love it! But yes, I think he deserves an extra dog treat or two...
That's chuckle inducing. Thanks for that. I can never get my dog to keep that kind of stuff on. It does look adorable, but you're right...very unhappy.
KATE, I have to admit that I don't like hats either!
ANDREA, It was such a cute idea but he is obviously not going out on our Christmas card with the reindeer ears. Now I have an adorable photo without the ears.
MICHAEL, He might have lost his sweet loving personality if I tried to add a red nose also.
TOM, He is one happy puppy. He still suffers from separation syndrome but otherwise is GREAT. I hate even leaving him to have him groomed. I'm sure that is because of being a rescue.
KAREN, I actually think the was contemplating how he could get these crazy ears off of his head.
KATHY, I'm thinking a flashing red nose would be over the top as far as he was concerned.
RAY, Yes I remember you and it is so good to see you back on AR. I have missed all your whimsical post. I never have learned how to do that automation on my post.
LOREENA, As soon as those antlers go on his head his face drops. He is a totally experessive dog.
RICH, He was a trooper but his face showed what he REALLY thought.
RUSSELL, This is the first picky eater dog we have had. He does not like most treats.
Marchel, Antlers or not he is a beauty! But you're right, he looks miserable (and possibly embarrassed :)
BILL, I think Dundy is happy to get back to the role of family dog.
NANCY, He is so picky on treats but we have found a few soft treats that he likes.
CARISSA, He was not a happy camper. As soon as I took the antlers off I clicked the picture that went on our Christmas cards.
CAROLE, Thank you! He is as sweet as he is beautiful!! I do think those ears embarrass him.
Hi Marchel. What an adorable picture of Dundy! Actually he seems to be tolerating the situation as best as he can. I am sure he was most happy when the head gear came off! I am sure you had lots of tail wags and some kisses from Dundy!
Hi Marchel...Dundy's much too cute to try posing as anything but a wonderful dog. Good for him.
Kate
Marchel...I keep forgetting to tell you how much I like your new picture. I'm not really sure how "new" it is because I have seen it for awhile now but I think it shows your beautiful blue eyes much better.

So cute Marchel. I am trying to figure if he is happy with the antlers on or not LOL. He's putting up with you that's for sure. : )
They do put up with the humans around them. I am guessing lots of kisses when the antlers came off.
Marchel - What a beautiful dog! Bless his heart - I guess it is a good thing that you can read his mind.
BRUCE, He did tolerate the situation and he was most happy when the head gear came off. Just a few clicks after the head gear and I had my Christmas picture.
KATE,I do agree Dundy is too cute and he has such a sweet personality. Thanks for the compliment on my new picture. It is only about a month old. It was after the time change as we were trying to figure out the light before the sun went down.
GARY, He did put up with the antlers but was way happy when we took them off.
TERRY & BONNIE, Dundy is always ready to give lots of doggy kisses. He is so sweet!!
Marchel--Dundy is adorable in his un-wanted reindeer antlers! Hopefully there is no grinch around to make him pull an overloaded sleigh! LOL
Marchel, that's cute. Dundy is just relaxing, but you might be right with the look of his doleful eyes. ;-)
Oh the indignities I must go through just to make my master happy (sigh)...
Helping you live your American dream...
Marchel - LOL Just a little ... the look you would get might be just a little more than unhappy
LOL our dogs don't like anything on their heads, even their Michigan hats.
But, they sure are cute.
She may not look excited, but Im sure she is warm next to the fire.
Marchel poor doggie. I don't blame him for being unhappy, I would not like it if someone did that to me either. He deserves a double doggie treat for staying that still with antlers on his head.
What a good sport Dundy is...oh the things we humans put those poor dogs through. Great holiday photo!
Poor Pooch he thinks he is being punished, it's all in the eyes. They are great actors and actresses.
Marchel, Dundy is so cute! He really looks like a good sport, but he had to be very happy to have those antlers taken off him! What a clever way by you to then get some great Christmas pictures!
Marchel -- the dogs are getting together to make humans wear silly dog costumes... Hope you and Dundy have a great christmas.
TERI ECKHOLM., In those ears my first thought was of the grinch's dog. He would make a cute grinch's dog but I'm glad that we found him first.
TERI ELLIS, Are those not the saddest eyes. He is the most expressive dog we have ever had.
MICHAEL, I'm thinking that is exactly what he was thinking when we stuck those ears on his head.
KATHY, It is a very unhappy look. It didn't take us long to forget the ears and just take his picture.
MISSY, I thought the antlers would make a great Christmas picture but he had other ideas.
JOHN, On top of all the indignities it was fairly warm that day so I was also sticking him in front of a warm fire on a warm day (lol).
GEORGE, He was oh so happy when we took the ears off. He didn't even care about the treat he just thought it was a treat not having to put up with that indignity any longer.
SHARON, He was a trooper to put up with the hat but oh my he looked sad.
CARL & CEIL, Those eyes are very expressive, aren't they.
SHARON, I went click, click after the ears were off and we had our Christmas picture.
JOAN, I wonder what Dundy will think up for us to wear. I don't think I would want to know (lol).
He is adorable! Those are some sad looking eyes.
Awwwwww poor Dundy!!! Glad you took those antlers off... I bet he wished he could speak... he certainly would have wanted to tell someone a thing or two.... but yet, he said it with his expression! I knew you would take heed though! It would have been an UNMerry Christmas Card!
DIANE, That would have been a sad Christmas card. He was so darn happy when I took the ears off that I got the picture at the left. I sent my cards out with send out cards yesterday.
I have a picture of Max somewhere that is similar to this.
Marchel - I always had cats. You wouldn't even think of putting a costume on a cat. They don't put up with that crap for a second! Learned that the hard way at a young age.
This picture made me smile, Marchel. Dundy looks embarrassed about wearing the antlers. How cute!
Hi Marchel -- We do crazy stuff with our labs sometimes and sometimes they are amused, sometimes not. I went down in the basement after my son and his two friends were "dressing up" one of our labs and the poor girl was laden down with so much stuff she looked perfect for Mardi Gras!
JANE, I would love see Max's picture!
GAIL, We have two cats also and I know to not even try to put anything on them. You are right they don't put up with crap like that (lol). That's what I have always loved about cats. Now I do love how loyal a dog is though. The two weeks we didn't have a dog we would come home and one of our cats would run down. He did not run down to greet us but so we would put him outside.
SHIRLEY, I had not thought of him being embarressed but you may be right.
CHRIS, Labradors are such wonderful dogs. I called our lab a gentle giant. She had a thyroid condition and at one point weighed 110 pounds. With medicine she went down to a trim 85 pounds. She would have been great with young children.
Marchel, even though Dundy may not be happy in that photo...he is still the cutest reindeer I've seen this year! :)
Leilani
Marchel, Love the picture and Duny is wonderful to lay there, mine would never do that. Happy New Year BTW loved the fireworks and does seem they come sooner and sooner.
