With our nation socked in with YUCK weather - Hot Chocolate is in order!!

Hot chocolate from Spring TX

With our Nation (especially our capital) pretty much socked in with yucky weather I thought a little hot chocolate was in order. We are also having a YUCK winter here in Spring-Houston, (you just have to love this global warming). We moved here in 1996 and I Have NEVER seen a winter like this one.  It is so sad seeing all the dead palm trees!!! I'm READY for spring!!

The picture is of course compliments of our daughter Tarina.

Global warming!?... What a joke. I wonder how Al Gore lives with himself?

I'm astounded at the number of folks buying into the myth of man made climate change.

I like cold weather in small doses.  I think I'm also ready for spring to get here!

Hi Marchel~  That photo from Tarina of the hot chocolate has me craving it right now!  But, it is too close to bedtime and I would be up all night.....

Looks like a great cup of fun you have there, Marchel. We'll have some tomorrow night as we watch the Super Bowl. I may add a dash of Bailey's to mine though. I like cinnamon, but never added it to hot chocolate. I may have to try that too.

Oh yea baby, my favorite drink and we are getting geared up for the best Super Bowl party in town. Let it freeze outside but we will be watching the game while taking off.

That does look very good, Marchel!  We had a nice 6 inches of snow yesterday.  Love the view of the pond out back.  I am sorry to hear about the palm trees.

Posted by Bruce Walter (Keller Williams Realty Lafayette/West Lafayette, Indiana) 6 months ago

No snow here, but I'm heading to the kitchen for hot chocolate after seeing that photo!

Posted by Barbara Linick (ERA Troy, Realtors) 6 months ago

We've had a cold (at least for us in Southern California) rainy day.  I made a batch of homemade hot cocoa.  It was perfect for the weather.  You can always count on hot cocoa to warm you up.

The hot chocolate looks sooo goood and satisfying... we are having a couple of nice days right now but hot chocklate will be in order next week...

My favorite hot chocolate is served at Corner Bakery with whole milk and lots of whipped cream. I know it's not the healthiest, but that's how I love mine..... What a perfect picture for a perfect day like this.

Won't HOT chocolate just add to the GLOBAL WARMING disaster were suffering through?

Wow Marchel! That's not your ordinary instant hot chocolate! I'd take the whipped creme over marshmallows anytime.

Marchel, We've been living off it....and anything else warm that you can drink :)  Goodness, I never remember a winter this COLD.....usually we get a few days of relatively normal weather (maybe in the 40's).  It's unbelievable and it's not over yet :(

Marchel, it is cold here today and yesterday.  The type of cold that just seems to cut right through you, so that Hot Chocolate looks real good right now.

TREY, I grew up and spent a good portion of my adult life with all the seasons but I have to admit I love Spring and its two seasons, summer and January.  Winter seems to be going on in to February this year though.  Gotta love that global warming.

WAYNE and LINDA, It is amazing the blinders that are on when global warming comes in to play.  There's so much scientific fact against it!!

JASON, I spent the first 40 years of my life in cold weather and I LOVE TEXAS!! I'm ready for spring this year however!!!

VICKIE, I hear you. I have to be careful what I put in my body late at night.

WAYNE, WOO HOO the Saints won!  I hope you enjoy that Bailey's in your hot chocolate!

CHARLES, We are celebrating with our neighbors tonight.  WE HAVE LOTS OF CAJUNS IN HOUSTON!

BRUCE, I'm not enjoying this YUCK winter but when I watch the snow up north it puts it all in perspective.  I can remember those years of my husband working the grave yard shift and I would be out shoveling.

BARBARA, That hot chocolate does look yummy; doesn't it!

VICKI, I don't know that I have ever made homemade hot chocolate.  Please share!

IRENE, Our daughter can take a picture of food/drink and take it to a new level.

LOREENA, I think I would love the Corner Bakery.  I LOVE anything with chocolate in it.

RAY, I like chocolate milk also.  Shoot I like any kind of milk but these holistic gals I'm going to don't.

SUSAN, There's nothing like hot chocolate on a cold winter day.

CHERISE, I did not know there was organic chocolate milk but will need to check it.  My holistic gals have me going organic.

TONY, I love anything CHOCOLATE!!

Marchel that is a rather inviting cup.  Sipping hot chocolate when the weather outside is frightful is the thing to do.

Posted by Jennifer Fivelsdal, Mid Hudson Valley (JFIVE HOMES REALTY LLC) 6 months ago

RICK, I also grew up with hot chocolate.  We use to make a version of it using dried mile and would keep it in a big container.

CAMERON, If hot chocolate is going to add to global warming then I guess I need another cup (lol).

MICHAEL, I have spring fever in a big way and it is still so yucky.  I could be covering my plants again in a few days.  What a YUCK winter.

MIKE, Tarina thinks it is so weird that her Mom blogs.  She knows that I use her photos but she does not visit (lol).  Wait until she googles her name someday.

BETTY and JOHN, I LOVE whipped cream on hot chocolate.  It beats marshmallows any day.

CAROLE, I think there's no place in the USA to get away from it (well maybe Hawaii).  My parents are in Mesa AZ and it is YUCK there also.

RUSSELL, WOO HOO Saints!  I just hope they don't burn the city down tonight!!

GEORGE, I lived in Colorado for 15 years and I'm telling you it is a different type of cold here.  40 degrees here is bitter with our high humidity.

Marchel, yummy photo! If I weren't so stuffed from Super Bowl food - both IRL and via Russel's cyber party (lol) I would make some!

Our palm trees were tipped with frost the last bout of freezing nights. Me, too, ready for spring!

Hi Marchel, I am ready for spring too especially after getting all that snow in Dallas yesterday. I will take palm trees and sandy beaches any day. As for my husband, he likes hot chocolate in any weather.

Marchel - That's a tasty looking cup you have there. Hot cocoa is good year around for me, but this wenter it was really appealing.
