On tax day we attended the North Houston Tax Day Tea Party at Sam Houston Race Track. Last year at this time I was involved with the first North Houston Tax Day Tea Party. I remember we did not know what to expect we thought maybe 700 to 1000 people would attend and were blown away when 6000 to 7000 people showed up. I have been real estate busy and have not been involved with this years tea party. It is amazing how this grass roots effort has grown in one years time. This year I read that 11,500 people went through the turn-styles and that did not include all the people who came in without going through. There were many people who were there for the first time so the movement keeps growing.
If you would like to get involved with the North Houston Tea Party you can visit their website at http://thewoodlandsteaparty.com/. There is an open meeting on Tuesday evenings and a Street Rally on Saturdays. They of course can always use volunteers also.
State Senator Dan Patrick was a speaker at the North Houston Tea Party on 4-15-2010. I'm sorry that he only looks like a bright light but the sound quality is GREAT! In my opinion Senator Patrick is a bright light for Texas so I guess it is appropriate! This short clip was at the very end of his speech and he is talking about Conservatism.
