We are members of Lake Conroe Sailing Association LCSA and our club just started our Thursday night sail boat races. These are just for fun so you don't have to have a lot of sailing skill to get involved. This was the family in sail #5841's first time to race with us; you can tell by the picture they are having fun. Wind permitting the race happens every Thursday evening with a start time of 6:15. The start line is always over by the lighthouse at Seven Coves.
Next Saturday we are having a Spinnaker Run in the morning and a Luau in the evening. If you would like more information please visit the Lake Conroe Sailing Association web site.
One of the things that I love about living in Spring is our access to Lake Conroe. We live in Spring but still find it easy to participate as the lake is only a 35 to 45 minute drive.

DIANE, It was a nice day for a race. The winds were a bit heavy but that beats no wind.
TOM, It has been a fun hobby. I have to be honest though I prefer cruising which is why I'm on the committee boat taking pictures (lol). Now my husband loves racing so he is crewing on one of the boats.
PIPPA, It is a fun hobby! My favorite afternoon is a quiet sail over to Papa's for lunch. Although we now have a lot of new options with Sam's Boat etc.
ROBERT, There's nothing quite like a nice sail! I have to admit though I'm not a racer. I much prefer the committe boat.
DEBRA, Thanks! I actually took 168 pictures so I had to decide which ones to use. My solution to get a good picture is to take a bunch.
PATRICIA, We have had plenty of wind this season. We actually started the season the first week in April but most of the April races were canceled because of too much wind.
MYRL, I love that we have the start/finish line in front of the lighthouse. It makes for some cool pictures.
GEORGE, One of the things we love about living in this area is the long sailing season. We sail until the first week in December and then usually start back sometime in March.
JENNIFER, We are off to a great start although we have had too much wind lately.

Hi Marchel, This looks like something I could get to. I love to go sailing. I was thinking this morning that it has been almost 2 years. Friends live on huge sail boat and race competitively. They have ben calling and asking and I need to get with the program.

Debra, Would you like to come out on the committe boat with us sometime? We have a lot of fun. We get the marks set then break out the wine and cheese (lol). I will be doing it pretty much every Thursday evening until the fall.
