Hi Marchel. What a beautiful image of Lake Conroe. It sounds like you truly enjoy these events and it is clearly evident one doesn't need a boat ( but personal, I'd rather be on one than watching from the shore ).

Marchel, you really have some towering and ominous cloud formations by Lake Conroe, but oh, so beautiful!
Those clouds look like the type that form here in Arizona just before a storm. And, they usually carry a powerful punch.
Those amazing clouds with that intensely blue sky only adds to the scene of the sailboat on the water! Gorgeous shot!

PHYL, Sailing is so relaxing. Now I have to be honest I don't like racing (which is why I'm on the committee boat) but I love a nice leisurly sail.
WILLIAM, There's nothing like being on the water. We got our start in sailing there in San Diego's bay. That was close to 20 years ago now. Now when I come I just get to watch the boats from my friends balcony but I still love looking at them.
STEVE H, Those are some wicked looking clouds. I pondered what to call my post but even though they look wicked I couldn't bring myself to call a cloud wicked.
RITA, I love the imagery also. I take so many pictures at these races I didn't even realize this one was there until it came up first on my Flickr.
GORDON, We love being on the water. We lived close to a lake when we lived in Colorado but the water was just too darn cold.
ANN, You should give sailing a go. It can be so peaceful; that is if your husband does not decide to get in to racing!
GEORGE, I love it because I'm on the committee boat taking pictures. I don't need that Adrenalin flow that you get when you start a race. We get to watch all the havoc as the race starts in the safe confines of the committee boat.
GLORIA, These clouds did turn a bit stormy and we called the race early.
SUSAN, We called the race early for just that reason. This time the storm did not materialize but you have to be careful when you are on the water.
JONI, The picture is almost surreal isn't it!
BRUCE, I love the pictures that I get while on the water. I got some great shots at the last race but have not had time to put anything together yet.
JULI, We cut the race early because of the clouds. In this case they turned to nothing but better to be safe than sorry.

LYNN, It is amazing that it is already Labor Day. We thought about going to the lake today but decided it would be way too crowded. My husband has a small sailboat race next weekend so we will go once the crowds are gone.
