Speechless Sunday - Dusk Moon at Lake Conroe!!

Dusk Moon at Lake Conroe

I have been trying to get a decent moon shot for a couple years now.  I guess I never thought of getting the dusk shot until it appeared during a sail boat race at Lake Conroe.

Hey Marchel where is the man in the moon? I'm looking but I don't see him.

Great Shot!

Oh, this IS a good one!  My attempts to photograph the moon are usually disappointing.

Hi Marchel, Well, you have the Moon Photo now. And a nice one at that. What's next on your bucket list of photos? :-)

Marchel,

Appreciated both of your comments on my Kristofer blog.  And we share the same comfort in Christ, and I know His master plan might also include my youngest, when he turns 25, might leave as close as yours.  Again, thanks for taking interest in my life, and I have in yours as well.

Marchel, I like the moon shot.  My camera does not capture enough ligh, even at dusk, so I never get a good moon shot, they are always very fuzzy.

JONI, This is my VERY FIRST decent moon shot so I can relate!  I had one other that was kind of good but the moon was so small it just looke like a little round ball.

CARL & CEIL, It does seem like you should be able to see the man in the moon.

ANN, I have been oh so disappointed with moon shots.  It took a dusk shot for me to finally get a decent picture.

RICKI, I was thrilled when I saw the detail!

WILLIAM, I have to admit it is that elusive nightime moon picture that I'm after but I'm happy to get my first decent dusk moon picture.  I got a fairly good moon picture when I was in San Diego last October but the moon was REALLY small.  I will be coming agian mid November maybe I will finally get that picture.

Great shot.  The next couple of nights should be great for more moon shots as the moon turns full.

Marchel  I notice you told William the moon in San Diego was small.  Are Texas moons larger?  :)

CHERISE, Thanks for stopping by!  I will be in Colorado this weekend.  We are having an 85th birthday party for my Mother in Thornton.  We are going to have about 40 people for a set down dinner on Saturday.  My husband made a brisket and we are bringing it with us.  So it will be a Texas barbecue (lol).

GEORGE, I've not had much luck with moon shots either.  This is my first decent shot.

MORGAN, I was thrilled with the detail in this shot!

DALE, Thanks!  I have been trying for a long time so was pleased to FINALLY get a decent shot.

ANN, Thanks!  I was pleased at how it turned out.

LYNDA, This was my first moon success!  Thanks for stopping by!

DIANE, Thanks!  It was the right place; right time!

JULI, This was on the water!  It is hard to get a shot from my house with all the trees but I keep trying.

MYRL, Thanks for stopping by!  I always love your ahhh pictures also.

RUSSELL, It is so hard to get a moon shot from my house with all the trees but I keep trying.

KAREN, The little moon had everything to do with the photographer and nothing to do with San Diego.  Other than that was where I got my first moon shot ever that was not just a blur.

Marchel ~  This is a great dusk moon shot! The clarity is amazing.  I can't wait until you get your "night" moon shoot!

Marchel that is a moon shot you should be proud of.  Getting a shot like this is not easy, I am still trying :)

Wow what a great shot! I have not been able to get one that clear but I am hoping with the harvest moon that we should be getting soon that I will figure out the right settings and time, I am going to give dusk a try and see how that turns out in a picture.

JOAN, There are so many tress obstructing my view so it could be sometime before that happens.

JENNIFER, This was my FIRST decent moon shot.  Now to get that night shot.  We are going to Colorado to my sister's house this weekend so maybe that will be the time.  She is out in the country so I won't have all the city lights and trees to obstruct my view.

STEVE, I'm still trying to figure those settings out also.

DEBRA, Thanks!  I was so excited when I saw the clarity.

DOUG and GLORIA, You are so right about the shots on the water.

TERAL, I have to admit my Canon digital Rebel XTi makes all the difference in the world.

Marchel ~ that is one amazing moon photo....you can see so much of the topography!  I have the same camera as yours, but I'd better get busy and practice to even get one tenth of your photo's quality -- great shot!!

Hi Marchel, I am getting closer, the last few at dusk were better (minus the mosquito bites), but this is still one of the nicest pics of the moon I have seen.

The perfect picture. Last Friday the biggest harvest moon was in the sky, but alas no camera by my side.

Posted by Ellie McIntire Homes for sale in Howard County Maryland (Ellicott City Clarksville Howard County Maryland Real Estate) over 1 year ago

STEVE, It did seem like the moon was floating in the clouds.

MARY KAY, You should get back in to sailing!  It is so peaceful; well when we are not racing.  Personally I let my husband race and I help on the committee boat which is fun also.

LAURA, Thanks!  It was my first decent moon picture.

MAUREEN, I had this on the semi-automatic setting.  I've tried the custom setting for prior moon pictures but have not been successful until now.

STEVE, Dusk seems to be easier to get a decent picture.

JANE ANN, I love your description of my picture.

KATE, I agree; there's just something about the moon that is compelling.

ELLIE, I was visiting my sister in Colorado last week and was so bummed that I did not take my camera out to dinner.  It was such an incredible moon.
