This last Saturday was the end of our sailboat racing season for Lake Conroe Sailing Association. As you can tell from the slide show we ended the season with LOTS of wind! It was a fun race!
If you would like more information about Lake Conroe Sailing Association please visit the LCSA website. You don't have to own a boat to belong. We do have a sailboat but keep it on the other side of the lake so for these races my husband crews and I help on the committee boat.
This coming Saturday we have our annual meeting and wine tasting to plan for next year. If you would like more information about our sailing club this would be a good time to attend.

Looks like a boat load of fun to me! HOW are you doing those slide shows?! Do tell!
Love the slide show........please share on how you are doing it. Thanks Marchel
Marchel...great photos. this looks as if the wind-storm came from around your part of Texas; thankfully no one was injured on those waters.
Must join with Joni and ditto her question; that slide show was great. Have a good rest of the week.
Barb & Sal
That's another of your gorgeous photos, Marchel. That sky looks just like the one we have here in Sacramento today. It has turned decidedly cooler.
Marchel,
What a great place to wrap up the season!
Thanks for sharing these amazing pics! :)
Marchel, that looks like so much fun. Such freedom and relaxation!!!
Marchel-- if it is the end of sailing season, the must mean that old man winter is on the way!
Marchel, I bet you wish that it could continue a little longer, but all good things must come to an end :)
Marchel,
awesome shots as always and great information that you share, keep the great job ! Best wishes !
Marchel
That looks like so much fun and what a great lake to do it on. How many members?
Sorry, I came over to check the slide out and still can't see anything.
That looks like a great event. I have never been much into sailing but I bet it can be a lot of fun.
Darn! I can't see it either......it starts to load, but then all I get is text - the title of the slideshow.
Marchel,
Sailing looks like a blast. And with all the turbulent weather lately in Texas, it's no surprise about the gusting winds. Best to you with your wine planning meeting coming up...
Marchel, The slide show is fantastic, which program are you using?
JONI, I learned how to do those slide shows right here on the rain. It was from Myrl Jeffcoat and she wrote a tutorial. You will find it at http://activerain.com/blogsview/1020573/animated-blogging. To make it work you will need to be able to upload it to your own site and then use the URL. You will also need to resize the picture to 640.
ELIZABETH, Please look above at the comment to Joni about the slide show. I have loved using them.
BARB & SAL, It is always fun to sail in the spring and the fall as we have wind. During the middle of the summer we shake and bake. We shake because of all the motor boats and I don't need to explain the baking.
MYRL, WOO HOO we are finally cooler also! Earlier this week we were at 92 degrees which just did not seem right when it is almost November.
PATRICIA, Having the wonderful WIND was a great way to end the season.
BRUCE, I love being on the lake. Now I have to admit I only like the long distance races to crew but it is fun being on the committee boat taking pictures all the rest of the time.
JOAN,Considering that is was 92 the other day I'm thinking we are still a bit away from old man winter. Old man winter here is when it gets down to 50 (lol).
GEORGE, It was a fun season. My husband still has one more race with our other sail boat club. It takes place the first week in December and is a Toys for Tots Regatta. The entry fee is a toy to be donated to Toys for Tots.
RAY, I always enjoy seeing your smiling face.
TREY, I think we are up to about 70 members (could be more) and that would be couples. Our club has been growing by leaps and bounds.
DEE, I finally emailed Active Rain about this and they feel it has to do with the browser you are using. It does not appear to be a problem on their end.
SHERILYN, We moved here in 1997 and got in to sailing in 1998 so it has been a fairly new sport for us. We have loved it. Once you get out on the lake and turn the motor off it is just so peaceful.
ANN, I'm curious now what browser you are using. You might try with a different browser and see what happens.
CHERISE, Our wine testing party is tomorrow. It should be fun! I'm then making an early Thanksgiving dinner as our daughter is here and won't be able to come in for Thanksgiving as the flights are just too expensive.

I am not seeing the slide show here either....wwwaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Loved the pictures. Being out on the water in the sailboats looks like heaven. Thanks for sharing the link for the tutorial on the slideshows. I'm off to check it out.
Marchel Your photos are lovely - looke like great racing winds. We no longer have a boat - too difficult for my arthritic husband
Marchel - THis looks like a lot of fun. It's starting to get a little chilly here in Tennessee, so lake days are over for a few months, that is unless I get to visit Florida in January.
