As I am sitting here listening to fireworks go off I thought I would share my first foray in to firework pictures. I took these this last 4th of July which seems like the logical time for fireworks. After living here for 14 years I have still not got use to fireworks stands opening up for New Years Eve. We have been hearing them go off all evening; our animals will be glad when the new year finally arrives (lol).
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
If you are on Facebook and can't see the pictures click here. If you are on Active Rain and can't see the slide show my only suggestion is to try another browser. I have contacted AR about the problem and they feel it is a browser problem. I use Internet Explorer so I know that works.

Great pictures, Marchel. That is so festive!
Happy New Year Marchel. Hope your 2011 is your best ever!
Happy New Year Marchel... Love the pictures...
Never thought of that... up here in Washington, we make noise and many let off fireworks... but you had better be forward thinking and buy them with your July 4th purchase, or you won't have any!!! ha ha...
Marchel: Thanks for sharing. Here we are already starting another year here on Active Rain.
The best to you for a "great" 2011.
Carl and Ceil Winters
Happy New Year Marchel! Everyone loves a good Fireworks Display and the one you posted is excellent! May you have many sparkly moments of success this 2011!

It seems to bother the dogs most of all. Have a happy New Year!
I love a good fireworks display! Great photographs! I hope you had a wonderful evening.
Marchel, thank you for sharing the fireworks, and may your 2011 be just as spectacular.
Happy New year.
Howdy and evening to you Marchel
Marchel, back home in Missouri we use to shoot off fireworks on New Year's eve. To me it sure does seem strange not to be able to shoot off fireworks to bring in the New Year.
I sure do hope each and everyone of you and your family always find that sunshine and joy, is there to welcome y'all to each and every new day of the New Year of 2011!
Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire

Very appropriate picture display for a New Year. I feel very positive about 2011. Hope that yours if full of happiness, laughter and lots of success!
Marchel, Thanks for sharing. Very festive. Happy New Year!!!!
Happy New Year to you! Fireworks are fun for the kids but maybe not so much for the puppies!
Your friend in Charlottesville
Hey Marchel!
Happy New Year to your family and you..many blessings and I hope you have a year of success and happiness :)
Marchel, those were great shots! We felt like we were right there! All the best in 2011!
KEISHA, Thank you! I have tried before to take firework pictures and this was my first success.
ELIZABETH, Same to you! I hope you have a wonderful year also!
MEL & GRETCHEN, I loved your New Year wish!
RENE, I have never got use to fireworks going off for New Years eve but it is alive and well in the south.
CARL & CEIL, I first found the rain on January 7th 2007 so I'm just about to have an anniversary here.
PATRICIA, I love pretty fireworks but I'm not thrilled about the ones that go bang (lol).
TONY, I hope you have a prosperous New Year also.
ROB, Our prior dog was a chocolate lab and she could stay outside during the fireworks and they did not bother her in the least. Our present dog is a Golden/Border Collie mix and he will crawl under my desk when they go off (lol). I think his response is the typical dog response.
MICHAEL, I had a nice somewhat quiet New Years eve. Somewhat quiet as I heard fireworks all evening long.
GEORGE, I wish a prosperous New Year to you also!
DALE, I'm from your neighboring state Kansas and I just don't ever remember fireworks on the 1st.
LYNDA, Thanks! I just got a new small Sanyo Camera/Recorder and I'm now at that trying to figure it out state. It is small so I can keep it in my purse.
JOHN, I'm all for that best year ever, Thanks!
KATE, I'm starting the year off with a bang so that is good!
KATHLEEN, Thanks for stopping by! Happy New Year!
CHARLES, You are right that they are not fun for the puppies. We have thunder right now and they don't like that either.
LAURA, I wish you a wonderful New Year also! You should meet my daughter sometime. She lives in Queens but spends lots of time in the city.
AL & PEGGY, Thanks! I was so excited to finally have some successful firework shots.
Hey Marchel...Hope this belated new years wish gets isn't too late. Hope your career and life are both prosperous and full in 2011! And thanks for the photo ..it comes up just fine.
When the noise makers and fireworks rang in the new year I had been asleep a couple of hours. I rolled over to all the racket, closed my eyes and went back to sleep, dreaming of a prosperous, happy and BETTER 2011!
Nice shots, Marchel! Fireworks can be tough with all of the flashes and smoke, but you captured a lot of great colors.
I use FireFox and couldn't see the pictures. Copied the URL over to Internet Explorer and saw them just fine.
Fireworks on New Years is common here and when I was in South Texas. Often times though, we'd find bullets on the roof in South Texas. Seems they think shooting guns in the air is another great New Years Eve tradition.
What a cool idea for a blog. I wish I could have seen the fireworks picture.
Liz, I have re-added the slide show picture on this post. For some reason all my slideshows quit working and I have been meaning to go through and put them back on. You prompted me to get started.
