Results Realty Buzz: Stone Lake to the west of Tomball

Informing you on the Real Estate Market in Spring Texas and the surrounding areas and other interesting tid bits!

Stone Lake to the west of Tomball

Stone Lake is a samll country subdivision located to the west of Tomball TX, off Mueschke Rd.  The subdivision has easy access to Hwy 290 to the west and SH 249 to the east.  There are only about 75 home sites and they are all on acreage.   Most appear to be on one to two acres but there are some that go up to as much as 8 acres.

The subdivision was developed in the early 2000's and there are only a few lots left to be built on.   The homes range in size from 2500 square feet to 5500 square feet.

Many of the homes in the subdivision surround the lake.  There are also quite a few that have horses.  The subdivision is in the highly acclaimed Tomball ISD.  As the area is growing it is getting harder to find newer subdivisions that allow horses in Tomball ISD.  The elementary is Rosehill, the middle school is Tomball and the high school is Tomball High.

Homes sales are currently in the $215,000 to $435,000 range.  The subdivision has a homeowner's association but is NOT in a MUD district.  The tax rate is $2.56 per 100 home value.  This helps to keep the property taxes fairly reasonable.

WOW, beautiful and so affordable. Are you saying that 5000 S.F house would sell for 450,000?

Robert, I have heard rumors about that Wild Kingdom disney for years.  The rumor has always been around Plantersville which is north of Magnolia.  This would be about 30 to 40 minutes south of that area.  So have you heard anything more concrete.

Missy, I went back 1 year for the current home sales and the largest that has sold recently was 4000 square feet on 2 acres for $435,000.  I went back and checked my figures after your question and found the $435,000 sale.  I did find one that sold in 2004 with 5500 square feet for $420,000 on 3 acres.  I expect the larger home would go for a larger price should it come back on the market but it would still be a good deal compared to much of the rest of the country.
