Results Realty Buzz: Icicle Fountain in Spring TX!!

Informing you on the Real Estate Market in Spring Texas and the surrounding areas and other interesting tid bits!

Icicle Fountain in Spring TX!!

Like the rest of the country we are experiencing freezing temperatures in Spring TX.  I was opening a home for a buyer to take some measurements this afternoon and drove by this fountain on the way to the home. This is Spring TX we are not supposed to be having freezing temperatures.  My client is moving here from Alaska and she was telling me how cold she thought it was.  That made me feel better as having moved here from Colorado I was thinking I had become a wimp. Our cold is a wet cold that gets you to the bone.

I have a new Sanyo dual camera and I thought I took lots of pictures and just one video.  For whatever reason the pictures did not turn out but the video did.  It is a short video and a bit choppy but it does give you the feel of the icicle fountain.

It's really lovely in it's own way.  I hope the plumbing is ok.

I can not believe that this is happening in Texas. You must be breaking weather records over there. Heck sometimes I can't believe it's happening in NJ. Yesterday it was reported that it was colder here than Anchorage, Alaska.

Hi Marchel, Don't you hate that. The temperature that is, LOL. This is a very smart looking home. All the best with getting this listing under contract.

Hi Marchel:  I don't think I've ever even thought of much less seen that this could happen.  You would think that the plumbing would have become frozen before the water came out!

Hello Marchel,  Wow that is a great looking fountain.  Hope there is no damage to the plumbing on the fountain.  We here in Colorado have been very cold this last week!  We are set to have a great weekend then cold again next week. Crazy weather everywhere!

AMEN! I am so ready to scream.... "BRING ON SPRING!"

Marchel,

For the most part, our cold weather temps, I think, make you feel warmer given the humidity factor.  This weekend you all are supposed to spike into the higher 60's.  We're going to just creep over 60, yet I believe we'll have better weather in the long run.  Shorts weather for me... g

Hi Marchel, now that is some ice.  You have been having a very bad winter.  Spring is on its way!!

Posted by Judith Parker , CRS, GRI... Charlotte, NC Specialist (Keller Williams) over 1 year ago

That's too cool!  For the first time my pipes froze last Thursday...I didn't have water until noon.  Crazy this Global Warming!

Posted by Dana Lim (Allstate Insurance) over 1 year ago

I can't believe the water is still running! I thought that last winter was cold, boy I was mistaking. This is the first time in 13 years I saw that night temperature dropped to low 20F.

Marchel, this winter is one for the books.  Places that never get snow are getting snow, and towns like yours where people probably usually walk around in just sweat shirts at this time of the year, are breaking out all the coats they can find.

As far as the picture goes, maybe you need to have your daughter take that picture for you.

I was really shocked when I saw a frozen fountain in Idabel this week too. It was a rare sight as it sure is in your part of the country.  Thanks for sharing. :)

The ice created some interesting sights.

GAIL, We have lived here 14 years now and I have never seen a winter like this.  Although the first year we lived here we did have an ice storm.  Nothing since though and it was just one storm this time we have had several.

SUSAN, I think the plumbing must still have been working as the water was still running at the top.

MARGO, Today it finally felt like maybe spring is around the corner.

RICKI, Today was in the upper 50's and the weekend looks to be in the upper 60's and the 70's by the first of the week WOO HOO!!

ELIZABETH, I always hated that arctic air when it came in Colorado but I thought I was done with it move to Texas.  Hopefully this last spell was it.

LYNDA, We have been unseasonably cold even with the sun out!!!!!!

Posted by Marchel Peterson Spring TX Real Estate E-Pro (Results Realty) over 1 year ago

MARIA, My client moving here from Anchorage told me she found it EXTREMELY cold here! It is unseasonably cold!!

WILLIAM, I actually saw this home on the way to open up a home for a buyer to take some measurements.  I was blown away when I saw it.  This is not something you see in our area.

JANE, I have seen a frozen waterfall/fountain in Colorado but one in Texas is one for the books.

JOAN, I keep hearing from my sister how cold it is.  She won't even listen to my whining about our weather(lol).

JONI, I am sure you enjoyed today. The next week looks GREAT!  Maybe this was it!!!!!

GORDON, Our 40's is way cold compared to your 40's but I can live with the 50's and 60's.  I have a client moving here from Anchorage and she told me she was so cold the other day at work she went out and bought herself an electric blanket to wrap in (lol).

JUDITH, We have had a hard winter but today encouraged me that spring is on its way.

DANA, Isn't this global warming crazy! I don't know how your sister did it living in Antarctica.

ANNA, We moved here in 1997 and immediately had an ice storm.  This is the first time since then that we have had another ice storm.

GEORGE, It has been humorous watching what people are wearing.  Having moved from the north I have a stash of winter clothes but many do not.

TIM, A frozen fountain is one for the books in Spring TX.

JUDI, I was thunderstruck when I saw it.  It is so out of the normal!

Dang, that's pretty cold for a fountain that size to freeze... (knock knock) Our winter in the Pacific Northwest as it turns out, has been pretty mild actually. We had a couple of days of snow, which of course totally paralyzes us, and some freezing days, but nothing extreme. We're on the downward side to Spring now, but just any thing can happen until March.

How sad for that poor little fountain. HA!  We have seen our fair share of cold weather over the past few days in Texas, thats for sure.

Marchel when I saw your title icicle fountain I was thinking Texas? Yes it has been a strange winter season.  The fountain covered in ice does look great.
