In all honesty we are only a couple of months away from the sailing season here in Spring TX but I am ready. For us it has been an unseasonably cold winter. The temperatures are back up to a seasonable 70 degrees and it is giving me sailboat fever.
I took this picture last summer at one of Lake Conroe Sailing Association's (LCSA) Thursday night races. My husband crews and I help on the committee boat. One of the things I love about living in Spring is the accessibility to Lake Conroe. We can be at the lake in 30 to 40 minutes.
If you would like information about joining LCSA visit their website at www.lakeconroesailing.com. It is only $35 a year for a family membership; what a deal is that!

Ah, take me away too. So looking forward to a warm Spring. Happy Valentine's Day.
Marchel, let me know when you get the boat wet, I'll bring the wine.
Marchel, With the crazy cold weather that we had in the Dallas area the last two weeks, I am so glad yesterday got into the 70s. I sure got the same feeling you got about getting out on the lake. My parents own a home that has lake front property so it's always a blast go spend the weekendswith them water skiing, fishing and just relaxing on the water.
Looks like it would be something to look forward to Marchel. 70 sounds great, today NJ we are at a balmy 40F
The Kalifornia Kid aka "Vegas Bob" would like to wish you and your loved ones a wonderful happy (Valentines Day) ... ;o)
Awwww...I think everyone is thinking about spring about now. Gorgeous photo - easy to see where your daughter gets her talent from.
Hi Marchel, Happy Valentines Day! A wonderful shot on Lake Conroe. The Spring with here and let the sailing season begin. I am ready. Our Parade of Flight was so impressive. Did you friend happen to make it down to see it? I took 2200+ photos and there were beauties in the bunch and most were discards as I started t take the shots as they first came into view. But it was fun and a great learning experience.
Hi Marchel, what a beautiful scene and I want to be there now. Absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. Happy valentine's Day!
Marchel - This winter has been so relentless, that I have often brought out photos from a trip to Florida last year, and to Utah the year before. I've needed to see warm scenes, just to survive this winter. We had a beautiful weekend, but it's raining now, and is slated to last through at least next Sunday. . .Woe is me:-)
Beautiful picture Marchel. We have that kind of a wind here today. (not in temperature-LOL)
Just looking at such a beautiful pictures takes me away.! Thanks,
gorgeous photo!! I would love to be on that lake right now... I can't wait for spring!!
Marchel, that is a beautiful shot. I can't wait for warmer weather. Happy Valentine's Day.
Marchel: We have had two days of weather in the 70 degree range and folks are all over Canyn Lake. Hope you had a nice Valentine's Day.
Marchel,
Sailboat fever.... sounds like something I might like to catch!
Ann Hayden in Wildwood, MO
Sailing and Valentine's...now that's a romantic setting; sure be glad when it is warm enough for sailing. I hope your Valentine's was special.
Gorgeous picture. Personally I am ready to skip spring and just head right into summer.
I can't wait for summer either! And this one really makes me want it to come soon!
Marchel, what a beautiful picture! And glad to hear you are into the 70's.
What a beautiful photograph. Thanks for sharing. We are enjoying warm weather this week too, but not that warm.
Hi Marchel,
So pretty. We have a sailing trip planned for this summer in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and I can't wait.
Lisa
Now that's a perfect way to spend the day! Your photo is very, very beautiful and inspiring!
PAULA, This warm weather the last few days has been nice but I'm ready for those hot SUNNY days of summer.
GREG, Sailing and a bottle of wine sounds like a nice combination.
STEPHANIE, I have always been attracted by the water and there's just nothing quite like sailing. When the engine goes off and the wind is moving you; it is so peaceful.
MARIA, UGH I don't know that I would like a balmy 40. We are such wimps here in Texas but in all truthfulness our cold is a wet cold.
ROBERT, I had a nice Valentine's day. I hope yours was the same.
SUSAN, Here in Texas Valentine's day is the day to start the pruning so spring is on its way.
WILLIAM, I don't know if my friend made it or not. She has a pretty good bird's eye view at her apartment though.
JUDITH, I'm ready for those dog days of summer also.
MYRL, I hope your rain has cleared up. We had a few beautiful sunny days but then the last couple of days have been warmer but dreary.
DEBRA, It is funny when I grew up we water skied so did not want the wind and now that we sail we pray for wind (lol).
LAURA, I think sailing is a wonderful way to get away from it all.
SHEILA, I'm with you but spring will be here before we know it.
GEORGE, It has bee a YUCK winter and I'm ready for it to be over.
CARL & CEIL, I love your lake and can imagine what it was like those two beautiful days.
ANN, Sailboat fever is a fun thing to catch.
TERAL, I can't wait for the season to begin; just a few months now.
STEVE, In Colorado I wouldn't mind skipping the spring but here that would take us to straight in to 95 degree days (lol).
CHRIS, I've have a big case of cabin fever.
PATRICIA, The 70's have been appreciated but now I also want the sun. I'm greedy (lol).
PAM, It is nice to have the nice weather. Here a week ago we had ice.
LISA, Are you doing a bare boat trip? We took a trip a few years ago to the Virgin Islands. We had about 5 or 6 boats go from our sailing club. We had 7 people on our boat.
PATRICIA, A day out on the water in our sailboat is a perfect day.
Ah Marcel, the sailboat, the sky and the water is absolutely beautiful.
Hi Marchel,
Our friend is a captain, so it is just two families with a Sunsail charter. We did the British Virgin Islands in 2009 and simply loved it! What a way to go; you don't feel at all like a tourist.
Lisa
Lake Conroe looks beautiful, I can see why you are anxious for boat season to begin again. I feel the same way about bike riding...we are anxious to get our Harley back on the road. 70's sounds like Heaven...it's my favorite temp!
Marchel - Great picture of Lake Conroe and the sailboat! What a beautiful backdrop for a picture!
Our winter was seaonable, but much too long. I'm eager for Spring
I'm so ready for spring also. Sounds like you and your husband work together as a great team.
Hello Marchel and I have been so busy I wasn't able to view & read every ones posts. I know Valentines Day is over but there is no way I am going to let this wonderful photo get away without a feature at one of my favorite groups at AR ...
