The Woodlands Showcase of home, Carlton Woods Creekside Oct. 13-24
The Woodlands Showcase of Homes is taking place this year at the newest the Woodlands Village, Carlton Woods Creekside. This will be a chance to go "behind the gates" of this luxury gated Woodlands community. The event is set for Saturday Oct. 13th through Sunday October 28th, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. I have watched from Kuykendahl as this new gated community and golf course have been built. I should say I have watched and dodged the trucks going in and out. After dodging the trucks for several years I am excited to get this glimpse behind the gates.
Carlton Woods Creekside is a 500 acre expansion of the gated community of Carlton Woods. Creekside is located in Harris County just to the south of Spring Creek. The property owners of Creekside have the opportunity to be
members of the Nicklaus course in Carlton Woods and the Fazio course in Carlton Woods Creekside. There are only 2 clubs in the united states that offer this Nicklaus/Fazio combination. Even though the golf courses are in two different counties they are only about 10 minutes away from each other. The Fazio Golf course was recently named "Best New Private Golf Course in Texas" in Golf Digest.
There will be 7 estate homes in the Showcase. They range in size from 5,400 square feet to 9.550 square feet. The features include theatre rooms, media rooms, summer kitchens, pools, wine rooms and other elegant details. According to the President of the Woodlands Corporation these homes will be among the most opulently designed and decorated ever featured in the Woodlands Showcase of homes. This will also give us a rare peak to see behind 
the gates of this fabulous gated community
Admission to the event is quite reasonable; $5 for adults and children 12 and under are free. I noticed a portion of the proceeds will go to support New Danville and Interfaith of the Woodlands. I was not familiar with New Danville. I looked up their website and New Danville provides affordable housing and offers a holistic approach to enable mentally challenged adults to live independently.
If you are coming from the Woodlands go south on Kuykendahl in to Harris County and Carlton Woods Creekside is on your left. If you are coming from the Houston area go north on Kuykendahl almost to the county line and you will see Carlton Woods Creekside on the right.

It looks very nice from the front gate and I hope the development is as nice as it sounds from your description. I can only imagine a 9,550 square foot house - that must be a real mansion.
