It has been incredibly dry in Spring TX this spring so we have been making a concerted effort to keep our bird bath full as the birds are quite thirsty. The other morning I noticed a beautiful blue bird land on the bird bath and ran for my camera. It was the right place at the right time as before I knew it my beautiful blue bird had been joined by 4 friends.
I have found that my facebook friends cannot see the slide show. If you would like to visit the show please visit bird bath time in Spring TX. I am including one additional picture for those friends.

Hi Marchel, bluebirds are beautiful. They have started to arrive here and are starting to nest. Have 3 birdhouses for bluebirds and one house definitely has bluebirds. Great picture and they are enjoying the water.
Marchel, you mentioned that it has been very dry in Texas this year. The parents of some friends of mine live in Midland and the fires there because of the winds has been devastating.
Love it! This sure is a sign of spring isn't it. I love this time of the year. After a long snowy, freezing winter in "the live free or die state of NH" we are sooooooooo ready. Seacoast NH really is a beautiful place to be but the winters are long. Seeing flowers peek their heads above the piles of snow left from a trying winter give hope to us all of better things to come.
Thanks for the hint of springy things to come real soon.
Patricia/Seacoast NH & ME
Marchel...What fun! So love to watch the birds and you have given me an early treat. thanks for the post.
Have a great week ahead. spring is in the air, but only today with the 82*, did we believe it.

Hi Marchel,
What sweet photos, their colors are spectacular!
Marchel - imagine my surprise when the photo moved - wasn't expecting that! Love the little slide show of the whole bird bathing process - lol!
Marchel: How cute they are keeping the stone bird company!!!
I am very happy you are keeping the birds happy there Marchel. We have been very dry as well.
Marchel,
One of my favorite sites is the sun bouncing off a bluebird flitting through the back yard.
It is something I will never capture with my camera, though.
My sister has bird houses and bird feeders galore, and is always capturing amazing bird photos like yours!
Wow, the blue colors on the birds is awesome. Great slideshow!
Hi Marchel,
I love the pics. Blue birds are so beautiful; we don't get too many in Southeastern PA. I have yet to have one visit my yard/feeder (that I know of).
Lisa
Marchel,
Great shots of the birds! ;-)

Oh wow Marchel....what a great set of pictures! Like Kristine said above, I was surprised when the birds started moving. At first I thought my eyes were playing a trick on me. I"m not sure how you attached a slide show here, but thanks! It was the closest thing to getting to see the birds in person.
Marchel sure sign of spring. What lovely colors on the birds too.
Marchel - I have never seen birds with such spectacular colors in the United States, other than in Hawaii. I love Cardinals that some states have too. We don't have any of these colorful birds in my part of California.
What a picture perfect shot. Did you just tell them to stop and pose for the camera?
You will be receiving an email, pass the word we are starting a new group called Wild Wednesday.

JUDITH, I have no idea what kind of bird those pretty blue birds are. They are not at all like the big screeching blue birds.
GEORGE, We are incredibly dry. We had a small rain this morning but it did not rain long enough to do much good. We will take what we can get though.
PATRICIA, We lived in Colorado for 15 years and winters are long there also. Even in our warm climate I still love seeing spring come.
BARB & SAL, We are so enjoying the 80 degree days. Before we know it we will be in the 90's and they will last until probably October.
LYNDA, I felt blessed to have 3 other birds join the first bluebird.
KRISTINE, They gave cute a bird bath show with the slide show!
JANE, With our dry weather they have been enjoying visiting our stone bird.
GARY, We use to feed them but it was such a mess. Providing water is much easier and fun to watch.
MIKE, I have tried those small birds in flight and you are right not something I can capture.
JANNA, We don't have a birdhouse but we now have a nest in our dryer vent. As soon as they fly away we are putting a screen over the vent so that does not happen again.
CHRIS, I love the color on the bluebird also. I'm not familiar with the species though.
LISA, I don't see many of the big squawkie blue birds but have recently seen several of these guys.
ANN, Thanks! They were helping me by staying there quite some time.
SONDRA, I learned the slideshow from Myrl and have enjoyed doing the shows.
JENNIFER, Our back yard is quite tweetie right now (lol).
MYRL, We have lots of Cardinals but this is the first time for these blue birds.
CARL & CEIL, I was amazed they stayed there so long. I will be looking for the new group. I think I will prefer Wild Wed. over Wordless Wed. as I don't know how to be wordless.
Marchel,
I absolutely, positively, without a shadow of a doubt, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your post! The bluebirds in action taking a bath was an instant stress reducer! What a thrill it was for me to see this. PLEASE put this wonderful post on the Birds Group for all bird lovers to see!
This is my favorite post for the Monday, April 11, 2011! I'm goint to click suggest too!
Patricia
PATRICIA, I did not know there was a bird group. I looked for the group but could not find it. Would you mind sending me the link?
Hi Marchel... they're gorgeous! We get a lot of Cardinals up here in Dallas, but I rarely see any bluebirds.
Hello Marchel and I really like how the photos change, very creative and featured at one of my favorite groups at AR ...

Hi Marchel, I love those pictures and how nice of you to think of the birds and their needs! How wonderful that you were fortunate to witness them enjoying the water! I have never seen that type of bird with the blue head and wings. Beautiful!

Marchel-I am so envious. I have a bluebird that has landed on the fence in the backyard but no bluebird comes to stay yet. The slideshow was awesome. Thank you for sharing. I loved it.
Marchel, glad you got your camera in time for this photo. I noticed on FB that my slides do not show up, so I just add a link to the word slide show after I insert the slide show. We have had plenty of rain these past two weeks...guess I could send you a few drops :)
I had to read the comments to find out what kind of birds they are! Very striking - can't say I have ever seen them!
Marchel, what a great photos. The birds are having such a wonderful morning at your bird bath. It's great you had your camera handy.
Marchel-Here is the link for the BIRD group. This post would be a great addition.

Marchel, What a treat you had and you passed on to us!! I love your slide show. To me they look like Eastern Bluebirds. Seems like they found a great place to cool down and keep clean.
The other two...song sparrow or chipping sparrow.....
Thank you!
FEATURED in BIRDS Group!

Marchel--Oh how I wish we had more blue birds in Indiana. I have only seen one in my entire life live and in person. You take the most beautiful photos!!
