Tomball is celebrating the National Day of prayer by having a prayer event at the historic Tomball depot. The event will take place Thursday May 5th at 12:00 noon. They are asking us to meet at the Gazebo by the Tomball depot and it should last about 30 minutes.
This years theme is “A Mighty Fortress is Our God”.
The National Day of Prayer was officially created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress, and signed into law by President Harry Truman. Since 1952, every president has signed a National Day of Prayer proclamation. President Barack Obama on Friday April 29th proclaimed May 5th 2011 as the National Day of Prayer, continuing a long tradition in the face of protest. For the complete story here’s an article from the Christian post.
I am planning on being at the Gazebo at noon. I hope you will join me on May 5th in praying for our nation, our military and all these national disasters we are experiencing in our country.

Marchel,
Just commented on another blog about the National Day of Prayer. It's great to see corporate prayer in action... g
Marchel,
I can't be there in person, but I will be there in prayer and spirit.
Marchel, I will join you in prayer at that time. You are on central time aren't you?
I hope everything went well today at the Tomball depot today, Marchel...here in California, it's "Cinco de Mayo" that you see plastered everywhere, and no mention of the "National Day of Prayer" so I'm glad I stumbled upon your post. :)
I've been praying off and on all day. For our Nation, our Military, our leaders.... just praying! Rejoicing with you in our Amazing God! ♥ ♥ ☻
Marchel,
I love the train depot.

Marchel,
I'm happy to say I joined you in prayer (all be it a couple thousand miles away) on Thursday. Here In Minot ND we meet in front of the County Courthouse under the flagpole. What a blessing that we can all be united in prayer.
Marchel, this is one of the best days of the year. It unites people from around the whole country.
