Soaring on wings like Eagles!!

Golden Eagle in Alasaka

Isaiah 40:28-31

New King James Version (NKJV)

28 Have you not known?
      Have you not heard?
      The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
      Neither faints nor is weary.
      His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD
      Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

The key that I need to remember is "wait" upon the Lord. His strength -- not mine! Thank you for the reminder!

Hi Marchel, I love these uplifting verses of scripture. Sometimes, I forget to Wait on the Lord, But I remember that the "Battle" belongs to him.

Eagles fly to the heavens.   As we wait upon the LORD God (love, serve, and obey Him), he will draw us toward Himself; he will give us grace, strength, and power.

Thanks for posting this, Marchel.

I really love this wonderfully encouraging verse from the prophet Isaiah.  To walk out our transformed life in Christ, it's this renewed youthful spirit that helps us to persevere in these challenging times.  Thanks for sharing your faith... g

I love that the eagles wings lift him far above the winds of adversity and oh, that we should be so patient as to wait upon on the Lord (He's still working on me!). I saw this gorgeous photo in Facebook and I am looking forward to more of the photos of Alaska. Glad you had such a marvelous trip,

Great job on getting a clear picture of the bird in the sky!  Great shot!

That has always been one of my favorite verses.  My kids went to Christian school and their mascot was the Eagle, and this was the school verse.  Thank you so much for sharing this.

That's quite the photo capture, Marchel.  I don't believe I have ever seen an eagle close enough in the wild, to even try to photograph it.  That's an accomplishment.

Hi Marchel, what an uplifting scripture as well as photograph.   I agree one must wait upon the Lord.  Have a beautiful Sunday!

Marchel, His promise are great, and He always fullfills them.  All we have to do is accept them.

GARY, I did feel the verse matched the picture.  I have lots of majestic pictures from Alaska but even with Whales and Mt. McKinley this one was still my favorite.

MARILYN, Years ago I had a friend who lost her son, brother and nephew in a small plane crash and this was the verse they  used at the funeral.  It has resonated with me ever since.

JONI, That waiting part is so hard for us!!!!!

JERRY, The battle does belong to the Lord and oh my I wish I could always remember that instead of reacting first.

FRED, You are so right as we wait upon him he does draw us closer.

GORDON, Years ago when living in the Denver area I had a friend lose her son, brother and nephew in a small plane crash.  This was the verse they used at the memorial service and it has always stayed with me.

TERAL, I have so many Alaska photos to go through but this is one that just stuck out. I'm leaving for the mountains of Colorado on Saturday so will have even more to go through.

CHRIS, To be honest it is rare to get a clear blue sky like that in Alaska which made this a picture perfect day.  I will never forget all those eagles flying around.

MIMI, What a very cool mascot to have.  My grade school was the Enterprise Eagles but that was a long time ago and the school has since been razed.

JOAN, Now I'm going to be looking for a picture with this scripture on it.

Posted by Marchel Peterson, Spring TX Real Estate E-Pro (Results Realty) almost 8 years ago

LIZ & BILL, This was one of those pictures where you just go "oh my".  It brought to my mind that scripture.  I thought about explaining where the picture was but the verse seemed to be enough.

MYRL, For years I have been trying to capture eagles but it took going to Alaska.  We were on our way to Homer and stopped at a boat ramp beside a Russian Orthodox church.  The eagles were thick in that area.  You can imagine I was going click, click, click.  I took LOTS of eagle pictures but this was my favorite.  On the was back out of Homer a bald eagle was flying along right beside our car.  My husband tried to get his cell phone out of his pocket to take the picture but the eagle veered off before he could get it out.

JUDITH, For me I have found waiting upon the Lord easier said than done.  I'm getting better but have often tried to take things in my own hands which is always the wrong thing to do.

GEORGE, He does give us a peace that transcends understanding.  While in Alaska we took a plane trip around Mt. McKinley and flying in small planes is not my cup of tea.  I had my bible study praying that I would have a peace that transcended understanding and he gave me that peace.  It was an INCREDIBLE experience.  When I have the time pictures will follow.

ANNA, Thanks!  It was an awesome experience to see all those eagles.

SUSAN, They are just the most majestic bird.  It was so incredible to see so many all in one place.

Marchel, what a beautiful photo! I'm glad Gary Woltal told us that it was an Alaskan golden eagle in comment #1 because I didn't know what kind it was. :)

This is a great passage from Scripture, Marchel!  I remember this from the movie, Chariots of Fire, and what a great picture to go with your verses!
