Thanksgiving swing dancing at DIA!!

Can you imagine being at a busy airport getting ready to fly out on one of the busiest travel day of the year and all of a sudden you hear swing music over the loudspeaker and young people start dancing swing? That is what happened a few days before Thanksgiving at Denver International Airport.

I can't tell you how many times I have been in Jeppesen Terminal, as we have family in the Denver area, but from now as I visit the terminal I will remember this video of swing dancing. I thought it was so much fun to see these young people dancing to swing music. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!

Hi Marchel, how are you?  It is so nice to see you here this evening and what a fun post.  I would have enjoyed this so much at the airport.  Have a beautiful Christmas!!

Marchel:  I looked and I looked.  Squinted and squinted.  Got out my reading glasses.  Nuttin.  I could not see you out there on the dance floor... anywhere !  Sure, the video was nice.  But here, with you writing about it... I was hoping I'd see you, swinging your little heart out.  But... noper.  Maybe next time.

Boy, those kids sure could dance, couldn't they ?  It kinda reminded me of all the jitterbugging I did back in high school in the late 1950's.  I even won a dance contest once.

Marchel ~  I have never heard of this before.  Now that make the airport experience a lot more fun!  Airports these days are rarely a fun place to be.

Marchel,  It is amazing to see things like this.  I enjoyed it a lot too.  It also brought back memories for me.  Two years ago I was in Mexico City for a "Fiesta de Quinceañera".  I got off the subway and there in the underground station was a crowd about the size of the one in Denver gathered around three musicians.  They had their amps and you could hear them throughout the noisy station.  People would stop and watch for a few minutes and then on their way.  There were two guitarists and a drummer and they were pretty good. I got about 8 minutes of video and just watched it and relived the event.  I will have to try and edit it and put it on YouTube so I can share it here in the Rain.

Hi Marchel, nice to see you back.  That was a great idea and bet every traveler that day was pleasantly surprised.  Wish they'd do something similar all the time - airports can be boring.  Thanks for sharing.

Gee-Whiz if only I could do that I would certainly get a good cardio workout.

That video will brighten your day for sure to see youngsters having fun.

I've been to DIA many times and NEVER has anybody started dancing, grumbling yes, dancing no!

I tried to start a flast mop down here in Canon City, wanted to have a huge pillow fight on the Royal Gorge Bridge. I got 100 people to say they would come watch but nobody wanted to participate!

Marchel,  This is awesome!  How much fun it would have been to see this live.  That is cool the Airport was part of this.  One day when you come to Denver, we will have to meet somewhere like in Castle Rock or somewhere.  Have a great day.  And Merry Christmas!!
